Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn, born August 19, 1965 is an American actress. She also works as an actor and producer. Her starring role on TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most popular. Sedgwick was awarded two Emmy Awards in 2010 as well as 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. The series ended following its seventh season. Sedgwick is also remembered for her recurring character in the role of Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated to the Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance in Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The actress also appeared in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald, a speech and family therapist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV who was a venture capitalist. She was born in New York City. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian who was with English descent. Sedgwick has declared herself Jewish and has said that she is a part of Passover seders.
